An Avocado a week can keep all your hair problems away.

Avocado is rich in natural oils and has many nourishing qualities for attaining healthy hair. It is enriched with Biotin which is a much needed protein for hair growth. Eating an avocado can provide various health benefits and using it as a beauty care product gives an extra benefit to your hair and skin. There are various hair masks created with the base of Avocado, but here i am sharing a simple video to just make your hair beautiful with only ONE ingredient.

Before using or making your own hair mask it is very important to understand your hair type and the scalp.

  • Dry Hair & Dry Scalp - The hair may look very rough, brittle and no shine. Dry scalp is prone to dandruff and visible flakes near the hair roots. In this case a fully nourishing & hydrating hair mask is suggested.

  • Dry Hair & Oily Scalp - This type of hair combination is most tricky to manage. For the length of the hair you need natural oils but the scalp has to be free from oils. If you use natural oils enriched products or conditioners on scalp, the hair will look greasy even after a wash.

  • Oily hair & Oily Scalp - Oily does not mean it is getting all the benefits of natural oils. Oily hair and scalp still needs nutrients and hydration. To create a hair mask for oily hair and scalp, there needs to be a balance of ingredients and a way to cut the excess oil secretion.

Let's create different variations of Avocado Hair Mask for different Hair types with few ingredients from the kitchen:

Dry Hair & Dry Scalp:

  • Avocado -1 small

  • Honey - 1 tbsp.

  • Vitamin E Capsules - 2 or 1 tsp. (Substitute with Almond oil - 1 tsp.)

Dry Hair & oily Scalp:

  • Avocado - 1 small

  • Honey - 1 tbsp.

  • Lemon Juice - 1 tbsp.

Oily Hair & Oily Scalp:

  • Avocado - 1 small

  • Lemon Juice - 1 tbsp.

How to Make:

  1. Make sure the avocado is ripe and soft. Cut the avocado in half, remove the seed and scoop out the flesh.

  2. Put all the ingredients (as per your hair type) in the blender or food processor to create a puree.

Note: You can also use a fork to mash all the ingredients and create a smooth paste.

How to Apply:

  1. Use an application brush or just your fingers to apply the mask on the scalp covering the hair roots.

  2. Divide hair in small sections and apply on the length of the hair as well.

  3. Wear a shower cap to cover your hair. If you have long hair, make a bun and cover it with shower cap.

  4. Leave the mask on for 30 mins.

  5. Wash your hair with a mild shampoo. Use conditioner only on the hair length.

  6. Let your hair dry naturally (if time permits)

Storage:

Avocado gets oxidized very quickly, so it is suggested to make a fresh hair mask every time. If you have leftover mask you can freeze it in a Ziploc for later use.
